A cross-border region where rivers connect
The Interreg HU-HR supported RenewMap project develops a GIS-based renewable energy potential mapping system across the Hungarian–Croatian border region. The platform integrates environmental potential datasets and supports data-driven energetic assessments and investment decisions.
Mapping renewables. Powering decisions.
We gather information on legal regulations, the fields of application and available potential of various renewable resources, as well as the implemented capacities.
We visualize the available renewable potentials and the already installed capacities on a searchable, GIS-based map.
We are creating a decision support system that helps users to receive preliminary calculations to support decision-making for their individual energy investments.
We survey the possible categories of renewable resources, identify suitable databases, and examine methods for their quantification.
We categorize them in light of the Croatian and Hungarian legal frameworks.
We model the potential for the eligible area. We develop calculation schemes for quantifying area-based renewable energy potential at different spatial scales.
We display the data calculated from the modeling on a searchable and filterable map, enabling users to perform calculations for different renewable energy potentials.
We use the calculated data from the potential map and integrate it into the decision-support App.
RenewM-App is a decision-support system designed to help individual users estimate the energy performance audit of their buildings, explore the required and possible energy-related investments, and assess their expected return on investment.
